170 km/h winds last night in the mountains near us. Just a little windy at the beach and as we didn't know about the windy mountains off we went. Steep grandure. Although windy another pleasant day enjoying the delights of the hinterland. Again lots of history and in one village no cars. The streets are still the same from medieval times and will not fit cars. No idea how they get deliveries to their houses. We look so local a French couple asked us directions! Ah St Cirq! It has been one of my life ambitions to stay in St Cirq-lapopie (such is the shallowness of my ambitions!) & wow it was worth the wait. This is a beautiful area & a stunningly beautiful little village. The countryside is so beautiful you don´t know what to photograph ... Han has filled her whole memory card (256MB) in St Cirq already! Our little house is fabulous, perched right on the edge of a 240m cliff above the Lot river with a spectacular view from every window. It has embroidered linen sheets, a great kitchen, games, books...Jump to full entry
