Apr 16, 2014 - Day 14 - Wednesday 16 April – Quillan – White Water Rafting

This morning Harry, Sammy and I went white water rafting in the L’Adue River in Quillan. Megan was recovering from sinus and thought VERY cold water would not help so had to forfeit. There was just the 3 of us plus the instructor who was very experienced. Grew up in Quillan and had been doing it since she was six. This was great fun. Apr 14, 2014 - Day 12 – Monday 14 April – Quillan

Today we met Peter and Brenda, good friends of Harry and Trish and had morning tea in Quillan town. After this Megan, I, Sammy and Harry visited the Chateau de Puilaurens which is a 1,000 year old ruin that was used to protect the region. Beautiful views over the town and could see in the distance the snow-capped Mount Canigou in the Pyrenees mountains on the French/Spain boarder. That evening we settled in for a home cooked dinner together with Peter and Brenda.

Apr 13, 2014 - Day 11 – Sunday 13 April – Toulouse to Quillan

Upon arrival in Toulouse airport we upgraded our hire car to a larger Citron C4 which could take the five of us with all our luggage quite comfortably. Heading to Quillan (pronounced key-arn) where we will have the next 4 nights, we stopped at a truck stop hoping for a quick burger and chips to continue on our way, but instead (no choice, only option) found ourselves in a French fine dining experience.
