passed carcassonne and needed to find somewhere to stop for the night.One of the joys of motorhoming is that, as the vehicle is self contained you are not dependant on campsites so we stopped in a picnic area along the banks of the canal du midi. the French do not mind this as long as you do not cause an obstruction or make a mess!

Aug 8, 2006 - Rennes les Bains: home of the Holy Grail

Same again please...Lazed around. Walked into town. Played with Josh and chatted with Irene. Drank wine. However, today there was more... Irene, Josh and I went to Rennes le Château, a gorgeous castle, church and village about 1000 years old on a hill, which is supposedly a profound part of the Holy Grail puzzle. We then sped at the usual breakneck speed to the scrummy town of Rennes les Bains and visited her friends Vis (Dutch) and Andrew (English) who live with their two dogs in a little house carved into rock which is about the size of...

May 29, 2005 - To the Pyrenees

Well so much has happened since the last entry. Took a day trip down to bilbao to visit the Guggenhiem museum. It was a quick trip to Spain but well worth the effort, more for the building than the art inside. These phots are from outside the museum. We left Mouscardes with great regret that we had to move on so soon. The kids loved staying in the big old 400 year old farmhouse, with its scary dog hospitable French host and his 3 other kiwi housemates. It really was like a lttel New Zealñand onclave.
