May 31, 2008 - Arles to Lunel - again!

We had a slow start out of Arles this morning, because we went to the market first. Oh boy – what a sight! I should have got Bruce to one of these markets early on in the trip because he might then have become amenable to planting ourselves at a gite for a week so that we could shop the markets and prep our own food instead of mostly eating out in restaurants. At the station to buy my ticket the windows had nobody at them. Wondering what to do, I said to a guy that came to buy his ticket that it seemed closed. The next window had the shade partly down but there was someone in there so we peeked under. The person inside was on the phone and when we tried to ask about tickets they pulled the shade down all the way. Great customer service. Then the guy saw a sign about buying tickets on the train so we went to the platform and the asked an official looking guy on my behalf what train I was to take....
