Jun 10, 2017 - Cap d'Agde

Day 23 - Sat 10 Jun 17 It is a bright sunny day with clear skies. Yesterday's weather was pleasant but overcast all day. We have made a number of changes to our itinerary partly due to "rocks " and "old" saturating our enthusiasm. Today we drive north to a golf resort at Cap d'Agde, 84 kms along the Roussillon coastline of France. Tomorrow we drive inland to visit the Millau Viaduct overnighting in a nearby B&B that is reported to have great views of the bridge. Monday we will return to Perpignan, complete a tour of the city before...

Sep 30, 2013 - Sete (take 2)

Today I ventured back to Sete. Donna and I had visited briefly on our first full day here in Pezenas, but it was a quick visit and quite stressful as it was the first "real" outing in the car. I managed much better today, though I do miss my co-pilot. I had looked online at how to get to Mont Saint-Clair, it looked easy as according to google maps I didn't need to go through the centre of Sete to get there. Well of course the GPS had other ideas. I'm wondering if there's a hidden camera with someone controlling the GPS and getting a great...

Excuse My French

Sep 29, 2013 - Beaches, Rivers & Canals

I decided to go to Le Grau d'Agde, where the River Hérault meets the sea, and have a wander around. It has a real beachy, touristy feel and I imagine in summer it would be very busy. It’s probably not a place I would consider staying as it didn’t have the nice village feel I prefer. I had a walk along the beach, which was fairly deserted and then walked along the river. Lots of restaurants here but I decided not to stay and headed to Les Ecluses de Fonserannes, Beziers. (The Locks of Fonserannes). Fonserannes Lock is a staircase lock on the...

Excuse My French

Jul 26, 2011 - Cap d'Agde

Nufer's unterwegs

Oct 31, 2010 - Adge

The clocks go back here one week earlier than North America so we hit the road at 7:00am. Due to possible disruptions to rotating strikes we decided to skip the train as we cannot get back if the train is shut down. However we do drive to Villefranche-de-conflent through the Pyrenees and the air is clear and clean. But we do run into a slight problem as its Sunday morning and all the gas stations are either closed or the pumps are automated so our Visa card doesn’t work. Mark tries to converse with a guy at one of the pumps. He doesn’t...

May 17, 2009 - Serignan, Cap d'agde

Today was supposed to be another beach day and after breakfast we headed back to the same spot we had yesterday. The sun was out but as the day rolled on the couds rolled in and after a while we decided to go for a Sunday drive. Headed to Cap d'agde which has a number of excellent beaches strung around the cape. Just north of the cape is Village Naturiste. Village Naturiste is a nudist town, with a 2 km beach, port and marina, campsite, apartment complexes, hotel, shops, restaurants, bars, post office, bank and ATMs, laundrettes,...
