Apr 22, 2017 - Wandering in the Ile de France
We have been having wonderful meals, thanks to my Aunt's superb cooking, but last night's dinner was a bit hazy after sampling two whites, two reds and a 30 year old eau de vie from Jean Pierre... I am really going to miss this as we head out on our own tomorrow and have to pick out our own meals and wines. Today we went for a wander in a local area where there are Scottish Highland cattle (and the ubiquitous Canada goose, both of which seemed out of place). Apr 21, 2017 - We arrive at last
We have arrived at last! Actually, we arrived yesterday evening, but the WiFi is not always reliable here. We journeyed from Amsterdam to Paris on a high speed train; which was probably lovely, but we all fell asleep and missed much of the countryside. We arrived in Paris at the Gare du Nord; one of the older train stations, with lovely Art Deco architecture, then took the now traditional harrowing taxi adventure through Paris to Orly Airport in the south of Paris, where we met up the Jean-Pierre and Paule Barbier, my aunt and uncle who had...
