We watched the sunset over Marseille as we said goodbye to the continent, and saw the rising sun as our ship docked 12 hours later, after a restful sleep, in Ajaccio, on the French island of Corsica. I was on my way to Venice, Italy when I met a professional chess player, Slavisa, on the train. He was going to Nice for a chess tournament. I play chess too and after 1.2 seconds of thinking, I thought - why not? I will enter the chess tournament too. I also wanted to see the French Riviera. Spring weather is now drawing lots of tourists here. It was nice to experience good weather after so many days in the cold and snow. I actually walked around in short sleeves.
