Today we are going to head out to look at Chambord, and drive along the Loire to see what is in the other direction. However, firstly in the morning, I took a quick walk to the open air market by the riverbanks whilst Ali took some time to recover from a bit of a bug. It was quite an interesting sight to behold, looking at all the fresh produce. There were lots of fruits and vegetables, as well as fish. Every 5th stand seemed to be either selling sausages (special local varieties) or cheeses (mainly goat, specialty of the region). I walked...

After our visit to the Chateau Cheverny, we had a very pleasant lunch in a little cafe. We decided to try their buffet of entrees (which refers to appetizers, not the main course). This gave us a chance to try a few different pates, a seafood terrine and vegetable terrine, cold meats, vegetables, snails, crevettes (shrimp) and of course, bread. After lunch, we rode our bicycles over to another Chateau called Chambord. We did not go into this chateau, we just rode over to see it from the outside and take some pictures. Apr 13, 2008 - Loire Valley...Day 3 (Blois and Chambord)
So I have to admit, day 3 of Loire Valley started out a little rough. We had been out late the night before in Tours and then continued the party in our room after we got home. Leeson and I woke up a little late and were moving pretty slow so by the time we got down to breakfast we had about 3 minutes to down some coffee and shove some food in our mouths before we had to, you guessed it, get back on the bus.
