OHighlights - probably my favourite day of cycling so far this trip. - Great scenery,quiet roads, wonderful fruit - Lots of walnut, fig and plum trees. And grapes of course - Loved the fresh figs, then we came across the first of many plum orchards. Had to try some and they were the sweetest and nicest plums I’ve ever eaten. Picked 4 for lunch ! - Coffee stop at a wonderful bakery outside Fumel - Lunch later in St Sylvestre next to river - After lunch the route sign marking deteriorated greatly. Ecole Villeneuve Haras If anyone is thinking that Kirianne is skipping a year of school, these photos may tell you how much she’s been learning this week at the École Villeneuve-sur-Lot Haras! There’s been horse care (grain rations and fresh pasturing) and child care (she can tie a good back sling). Riding lessons, and the experience of taking a herd of horses along city streets and byways to and from weekend pasture in the country. La Villeneuve-sur-Lot - April 4 There’s a full moon hanging above our bedroom, with only the slightest sliver of the bottom edge shining silver while the remainder of the grey disc merely darkens the faintly pale late evening sky. Our bedroom is a caravan parked in a grassy field between a canola field in bloom and a pasture inhabited by four heavy-set Breton draft horses. We have electricity, but no running water.
