September 7-8 Vacation in the Dordogne Wednesday brought one more market day in Sarlat. I remember when our tour group was here, the leader had us draw slips of paper with different foods on them, and sent us shopping. Then we had an incredible picnic with all the items. What a feast! As in Cassis, I made an effort to find a good parking lot close to the market. Thanks to the GPS, I found it, and the sign said it was ‘libre’, so I took a ticket and went in. France Road Trip Two

Aug 13, 2014 - Beynac & La Roque Gageac

We had a little on half an hours drive to get to our first stop, which is the lovely little town of "Beynac-et-Cazenac". It is a small town, situated right on the Dordogne river. All of the buildings are a grey colour, with red roofs. It took us probably 15 minutes to find a car park, as they were a fiercely contested item. Some people had just double parked in car in the middle of a parking area, hunting those who were coming back to their cars. Me, I'm too impatient for that.
