May 19, 2011 - Day five of Alsace bike ride - Riquewhir

Day 5 was to Riquewhir(50km) this was thus start of the hills! Wayne and I decided to skip the wine tasting (too hard to get back on the bike after) and take the short route to the next village. We made it just as a storm started so had to take shelter in a lovely little cafe and drink beer and eat tart flambé. Hard work! The others had to push their bikes up the steep hills, oh well. We all meet up later and set out again but rather than take the more difficult route Wayne & I went the easier, but longer, route. All was going well until...
