Mar 4, 2006 - Day 46 Update - Fiji

We left Los Angeles at 10:45pm for Fiji, a 11 hour flight with Air Pacific. Again we tried to blag an upgrade into business class but it fell on deaf ears however the economy class was not to bad and the flight was comfortable. We arrived in Nadi, Fiji at 5am a whole calender day later as we crossed the international date line therefore we lost the 3rd March 2006 forever. The minute we got off the plane we we felt the humidity and were welcomed by the Fijian version of queen playing some local hits suchs as 'bula, bula' and others. The...

Feb 4, 2006 - Namale

G'day mate! From that greeting you know my dad and I didn't go home as planned. Instead we traveled to Australia, after I surprised him with last minute (I'm talking REAL last minute) tickets to the country he has always wanted to visit. But before we fly to OZ we close out our incredible trip to Fiji in style, as we check into the Namale Fiji Islands Resort & Spa (Anthony Robbins owns it). Make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom, where you'll find a 2-minute video of our Fijian trip from beginning to end. NAMALE I have wanted to stay...

Bula! Last week we left off just after my dad and I landed in Fiji. This week we continue the journey as we travel to Fiji's second largest island, Vanua Levu. SAVUSAVU AIRPORT The Savusavu airport is basically a small outdoor hut with two offices. One is for Sun Air; the other, for Air Fiji, is across the covered waiting area. And the prices are very reasonable....

Where's Johnny Jet?

Jan 22, 2006 - Nadi to Savusavu

NADI TO SAVU SAVU Fiji has so much to offer. It can accommodate every traveler's needs (from honeymooners to families to singles) and budgets (from hostels to exclusive 5-star resorts). Visitors should do some research to find what's best for them, in terms of not only the best resort but the best island for them. Some islands are good only for lazy beach holidays, while others might not even have sand (those cater to adventure travelers). No matter what you want, for the real feel of Fiji it's best to leave the main island (Viti Levu) and...

Where's Johnny Jet?

Sep 30, 2004 - The First Few Days on Fiji's Garden Island - Taveuni

NOTE: The map "mytripjournal" has for Fiji does not include the most eastern part of the country, so I placed the red dot as close to Taveuni as I could. The actual island ais about 30 kilometers to the east of where the red dot is. ________________________________ Upon arriving on the Garden Island, I camped at a place right on the beach, where I practiced Fiji Time at Beverly's Beach for a couple of very lazy daze. I also went for two dives in the world famous Somosomo Strait (which is just next to the also well known Rainbow Reef). Some...
