We were up, packed and finished breakfast by 8:00 AM. When we reached La Libertad we stopped to take a look at the first hotel we came to. ... Compared to the other cities we had visited, San Salvador was sleek, modern and relaxed. We climbed up and out of San Salvador, then down a long stretch to the coast and La Libertad. ... The best point break in Central America sits off La Libertad, at Punta Roca, but we stepped off the bus, threw our packs into the back of a pickup, and drove along the coast road to Playa El Tunco. ... We were dropped off and walked out a stone and dirt road to the beach, where we checked into the ritzy (for us) Roca Sunzal Hotel, for three days of pampering.Compared to the other cities we had visited, San Salvador was sleek, modern and relaxed.
