Mon 02 Mar 09: After a lazy morning wandering around Luxor being hassled for scarves, clothes, spices, a sail in a feluca, you name it, we finally sailed early afternoon yesterday for Edfu, our first stop along the Nile. ... Our last stop on the felucca was at Edfu Temple, where Seth, the god of chaos, was represented by a hippopotomas and baked into cake form, then eaten by his avenger, Horus. ... At Edfu, a guard was pointing out a staircase in an effort to eek out “baksheesh” from visitors. ...
