I was happy to see Ahmir working this morning and not Mr. I got off in Bawiti, the main town in the oasis, and was greeted by a barrage of touts from the desert camps in the area, all vying for the attenion of me and the four other white people who got off the bus. ... We had the same idea as everyone else who goes to Bawiti, a jeep safari out into the black and white deserts. ... I booked myself onto a 3 day, 2 night, jaunt into the desert Oasis of Bahariyya (spelling?). Spent first night in Bawiti (small Oasis town) and after endless helpings of tea, I managed a three hour hike round the hills, palm groves and desert. ...
