Feb 25, 2010 - off to Guayaquil

Today my guide picked me up at 8.30 with my luggage to transfer me to Guayaquil. It is from there that I will be going to the Galapagos Islands. What I didn't realise was that I will be transferring from there the next day by plane to the islands. I thought that I had finished with planes for this journey! Xavier first called at a mans house to pick up our box lunch and then to his house to pick up a fax. It turns out that his father is a civil engineer and his mother an economist. June's Sabbatical

Feb 22, 2010 - Hacienda cusin

Today I went for my first horse riding session at the Hacienda. I had a guide and we rode for over two hours up the side of the volcano, through the woods and fields and through the villages around the area. The only problem were the local dogs. There were packs of them everywhere and they barked and snarled at my guide and I and hasstled the horses. the first time it happened my horse bolted and I yelled my head off. the next time the guide went in front and took most of the trouble. June's Sabbatical

Feb 21, 2010 - moving again

Another bad night! Up early this morning and decided to just have toast and coca tea, as I have an hour to two hour journey to the Hacienda Cusin. Darn visa card did not work so I had to scramble around for cash again. My guide was prompt and we set of at 730 through the town, which was not so congested with cars and took a drive along the pan American highway to my next destination.
