Feb 28, 2008 - GALAPAGOS!!! (San Cristobal Island)

Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, the capital of the Galapagos, and the town on San Cristobal, is pretty similar to Puerto Ayora - just a little smaller and cheaper (so we didn't have to stay in a basement doing nightly battle with mosquitos!!), and with LOTS of sea lions!!! We nearly fell over them getting off the ferry, and the fishermen have to push them off their boats to go fishing. ... ¡Hola! More sea lions!!! We've seen so many now that they've become part of our routine. We even talk to them! And it feels like they understand, or at least you get more of a response from them than you would get from certain humans ;-) We spent the afternoon in Isla San Cristobal, visiting another turtle reserve, La Galapaguera, and strolling around Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, the capital city of Galapagos with 7000 inhabitants where fishing as the main source of income, a charming little town basically. ...
