Pedernales is just North of the Equator on the Ecuadorian Coast and I was there when the Earthquake struck at Pisco in Peru. ... Pedernales doesn't have much going for it though it is trying to tidy up its act and move from a fishing town to attracting tourists so there are now beach front bars and a noisy evening centre. ... The great thing about Pedernales is the Beach - it just goes on and on. ... A couple of nights in Pedernales was enough and we headed back to Canoa and the restful Hotel Bambu. ...
