Today, we went ashore at the pier of Bellavista to see sea lions, and walked the trail past land iguanas who eat the fruits of the pear cacti trees! This island has the largest population of land iguanas in the Galapagos, so I was anxious about finding them all over and having a problem stepping around them. Andres told us that the drought is bringing hard times and the cacti they eat are suffering. People are planting young trees hoping to bring them back so the iguanas have enough food.
