Mar 3, 2009 - Luperon Update

Happy Birthday Dad on the 3rd, Dave R. on the 6th, Catherine on the 18th and Anna on the 22nd! How did it suddenly become March? Dave and I are enjoying our 2nd winter in the DR and still don’t think anyone can beat a sunny 82 degrees on a consistent basis in the months of January and February. You snow lovers can have your snow, we’ll take our shorts and flip flops any day! We are still building the house of the decade, meaning it may take an entire decade to get it completed! Our latest update on the house is that we are down to 3 guys...

Jan 25, 2009 - What's been up

December 11, 2008 – January 23, 2009 I could sum up the last month and a half with a few key words…Anniversary, Boats In, Boats Out, Bent Nails, Caymans, Cement, Christmas, Construction, Dave’s 45th Birthday, Family, Nine Toes, Rain, Rain Catcher, Roof didn’t Cave In, Sooners Blew It, Sun and thankfully, the ever present Warm Weather. Chad was going to get out on the water the second day, but we had a big storm the night before and the wind and water...

September 23-29 Luperon, Dominican Republic We had our second beach cookout and bonfire this week. Most of our Dominican softball friends showed up for the food and festivities which were enhanced by a gorgeous almost full moon. We also celebrated our friend Joe's 61st birthday this Wednesday. He and his wife Becky are aboard the sailboat "Half Moon" and his birthday was on Wednesday, the date of the actual full moon. Dave, who tends to soak his shirts through with sweat within 15 minutes of stepping out of the shower, did not let us down...

Apr 17, 2003 - The Trip That Got Me Hooked....

My first trip was to the resort of Paradise Beach Club in Puerto Plata in 2003. I went with four of my girlfriends just before graduation and it was one of the most memorable times of my life. I had an absolute blast!! The weeks leading up to our departure we would skip school and go to the libary just to surf the internet and lok at pictures of our resort and the country. I rememebr starring at the oocean and sand and I couldnt believe that I would actually see it in person. It semed so surreal to me that something as beautiful as that...
