9/12 - Saturday We had breakfast at our hotel, and we set off for town (15 min walk from Kut to Vis Town). We walked and we walked and we walked and we walked. We originally thought we'd get a scooter - the island is small, but the two main towns (Vis Town and Komiza) are still 10 hilly kilometers apart on different ends of the island. For the first time on the trip, however, the weather looked a bit iffy, so we opted for hoofing it. It is harvest time...and this place is known for their wine and olive industry. Jul 27, 2008 - Vis

We are slowly making our way down to Dubrovnik where I will disembark. But as the distances are not great we are zigzagging. We had read about Vis in the pilot book but Tony had never been there so it was something new for both of us. Vis has an interesting recent history as being the secret meeting place for Tito and the Allies during the Second World War. Tito headed the resistance movement in Yugoslavia.
