We awoke in Split to heavy rain and a forecast not much better for the rest of the day. But we needed to check--in for our charter, so headed to the Marina, where the downpour continued and it looked questionable for departure. But between squalls, we saw a window of opportunity, and decided it would be better to be wet in a pretty little town, than dry in a mediocre one. Jun 16, 2011 - Starting towards Split

This was going to be our longer sailing day to get us closer to Split for when we had to return the boat on Saturday morning. The winds were very light so we ended up motoring for about 3 1/2 hours to Maslinica on the Island of Solta. Even though we were motoring it was a lovely day and the sea was calm, and we were enjoying ourselves trying to determine what all the features on the landscape were.
