The end of the week sees us camped on a hill on the most northerly island in the Adriatic – Krk. This has been a splendid week including 3 long and strenuous hikes, coastal driving, fun and great food. We have ended the week on Easter Sunday having a typical Croatian Easter dinner in the restaurant at the campsite – lamb and fish. We started the week hiking in the Tuscan countryside from the tiny hill village of Montisi. Sep 28, 2010 - Croatia here we come

The doggy grooming parlour (that's doggy, not dodgy, Alistair) was a great success. It actually did look a bit dodgy as it was in the middle of an estate in quite an industrial looking town, but we found it and it looked legit and not too much like a laundering operation for the Slovenian mafia. (Can you tell we are working our way through all the Sopranos series start to finish?). Sep 5, 2009 - Holy Mountains Batman!!!

Well, when we left the Danube River we were looking for a challenge and did we ever get it!!! Once we left Hungary, our first stop in Croatia was the town of Varazdin, where they were having their big summer festival. 10 days of street music and food and drink. There were thousands (literally!!) of people in the streets, and booths selling all kinds of things from food to jewellery, and music everywhere. It was fantastic.
