This morning we set out to the Bribri Indigenous tribe’s “reservation” just beyond the town of Bribri. Our Indigenous guide, Alex, told us that 1 200 people are living here, on this rich and fertile agricultural land. However, this tribe has not always lived here. At the Indigenous peoples’ school, we attended a performance by some of the members (who recruited some of our group) which clearly depicted the brutal exploitation by the Spaniards.
