So what did we do for six weeks in a country frequented by planeloads of American tourists? Studied spanish and taught English in a tiny village 1.5 hourse south of San Jose. For six consecutive weeks. Throw in a few local hikes, a regular thrashing at football (soccer) once a week and you end up with a pretty busy schedule. A two week break ensued at one of the tourist destinations - Manuel Antonio park, but since it was the "green season", we had more rain than tourists. But the monkeys didn't care and neither did we. Apr 30, 2007 - Hola de Costa Rica

We're not sure if this is part of the honeymoon or not, but we are now in Costa Rica studying spanish and teaching kids english. Oh, and Tomas is doing his best not to allow too many goals to be scored in the ¨5 a side¨ futbol matches. Without too much defensive help, he managed to limit the other team, el taxitas (or taxi drivers)to 22 goals. Our team managed to score 13. Fortunately, the game ended with all his teeth in the same place they started. Orosi is a very tranquil village set deep in a valley surrounded by mountains. It is lush...
