Feb 4, 2011 - Hasta la Vista!

Holla... Another day, our last day in Paradise! I woke up to the smell of coffee in our room. Mr. Roque had already started the coffee maker and I believed I had died and gone to heaven. What a place this is!!!! You open your eyes and stare directly at the rain forrest, unbelievable. I decided to drink my cup on the balcony and opened my laptop to see if I found anyone online. Aug 4, 2008 - Volcano Poas, Costa Rica

This National Park is a quick day trip out of San Jose. We had to wake early to catch view of the crater as after about 10am the fog rolls in and you can't even tell there is a crater below you...you see nothing! The pictures don't really do this crater justice. It spits steam smelling of eggs (sulfur) at all hours and is apparently Costa Rica's most active volcano. Wouldn't wanna be around here if it were to blow again!

Jul 5, 2007 - Peace Lodge

If you jump in a car from either Arenal or San Jose & head towards the Poas Volcano (no buses can go here), swing a right at Agua Saltenas, the road climbs & climbs once more back into the clouds. It's not a wide road nor a safe one, we saw a nasty crash on the way up, but eventually you break out at the top & enter a very magical place. La Paz Waterfall Gardens. This is the creme de la creme of luxary, but please don't tell anyone. Why? because this place is unique! Perched high up in the cloud forest is a private reserve with a good...
