Apr 11, 2018 - My Trip to Democratic Republic of the Congo
I know most of us talk about the negative side of Congo but my visit to the Democratic Republic of the Congo proved that we are ignoring the positive side. Last summer, my company like cartoon streaming sites rewarded me with an annual bonus. Entire family congratulated me and advised that I should go for a trip with my husband Johns. I and my husband are nature lovers and we decided to go to Congo. Yes, my parents had many security concerns about this trip but I managed to convince them. I visited many places there but I can never forget...

Oct 31, 2013 - Democratic republic of the congo
Of the characteristics of the bomb, the parts that are effecting the DRC the most are military conflict, and bad government as of 2010. The DRC is clearly suffering at the hands of the resource curse because the natural resources are very valuable to the production of modern technology. Since their Recent government consisted of a dictatorship (freedomhouse.org) typically through this form of government the wellbeing of citizens is not placed at a high value, and military conflict is free to attack the nation for profit from resources,...

Sep 23, 2013 - Democratic Republic of the Congo
One may say that the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is the bread basket of the world when it comes to its overflowing deposits of precious metals and minerals. These deposit include mineral ore containing tantalum, tungsten, tin, and gold, which are used in essential components in the technology industry. The DRC is a nation that lacks advanced technology, so even though they are a...

Nov 1, 2007 - Our Adventure in The Congo
"You're actually going to the Congo?" was the question posed by a seasoned traveller we met on our journey. "Are you crazy??" asked another, with an incredulous look. With calm assurances from our Aunt Janine, more Congolese than European, and at 77 years old, a true adventurer and lover of Africa, we head out via air from Uganda to expreience this country first-hand. Boarding our small plane is an experience in itself. It was either a 15, 18 or 24 seater but with all the luggage, plastic wrapped bundles and other paraphanalia taking up...

Aug 25, 2006 - Gorilla Day
Today was Gorilla Day. Everyone was all excited. We ate breakfast and made out way to the border (Uganda/Congo). We cleared the border and were split into 4 groups in 4 wheel drives to head to the park entrance to hike to the gorillas. We drove for 2 hours over the bumpiest worst roads we've encountered thus far. We passed thru villages ravaged by the latest war and others that are full of Rwandan refugees. Their homes are mud huts with straw roofs. There are no Coca-cola signs or any signs of western influence. This is the Africa I came to...
