April 1, 2011 Three days ago we hired a guide from Minca; a small village at the foot of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Minca sits at approximately 600m and is home to a few thousand. We wanted him to take us to a Wiwa village deep within the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. These peoples have been virtually isolated from western civilization for centuries and have only recently allowed ‘younger bothers’ into their world.
