From our lovely Posada San Sebastián in San Jeronimo we decided to visit the colonial town of Santa Fe for the day. The owner of the hotel was nice enough to drive us there and arranged for a taxi to deliver us back in the afternoon. Sante Fe was founded in 1541 when Colombia was a colony of Spain. It’s main wealth then was from gold mining, now agriculture and tourism. Known for its colonial buildings, cobbled lanes and tamarind candies, the whole city is a national monument.
