We hopped into our Jeep to begin our 8 day tour of Tibet (we means, Tim, myself, Melissa and Elvis - Italian couple, Erik - Norwegian dude, Dimmy - Tibetan guide, Jumber - Driver and biggest Tibetan I saw!!) and headed out to the ferry that would take us across to the Samye monestary. ... The samye monestary is in the middle of nowhere was pretty interesting in that the main building was 3 floors. ... We are supposed to be heading to a place called Samye. ... Samye is the first monestary in Tibet and it's also got a very unique shape. ... So our handy tour leader knows that there is a ferry and boat that will take you upriver and drop you off near Samye. ... At this point we needed to get to Samye in time to walk around and see the place and leave enough time to get back and checkin to the new hotel near the airport. ... We now have to get a ride to Samye. ...
