Pingyao is a really cute old town with genuine old buildings (!!!! so rare in China), small alleys, and great accomodation option in traditionnal Ming chinese courtyards. Really very nice. Food is splendid too, so this city is easily the highlight of China so far (along with Yangshou countryside scenery).
