last night i took the overnight train from beijing west to xian and had my first experience on a hard sleeper, which was not as bad as it sounds, rest assured. ... got to xian early this morning and got picked up by someone from my hostel. ... anyone who looks at this while thinking about china, do not do prepack tours in xian, waste of time and money, much better to do it on your own. ...

The airport was an hour outside of Xian so on the trip in we had a full briefing on our itinerary and the overview to the rich history of Xian. ... For many hundreds of years Xian was the capital of China and therefore had a somewhat violent past. ... There was no stop after this, back to Xian to visit to ancient Drum tower. ...
