Jun 8, 2008 - The hard-sleeper train to Xi'an

The alarm went off at 4am this morning, and after needing about 10 minutes to roll over on the rock-bed to turn it off, we went straight back to sleep - no more hiking for us! We were to be on the road back to Beijing by 10:00, so just enough time to have a bit of a sleep in and breakfast on the balcony before boarding the bus back to Beijing.The alarm went off at 4am this morning, and after needing about 10 minutes to roll over on the rock-bed to turn it off, we went straight back to sleep - no more hiking for us! This morning we saw the Terracotta Warriors there are around 8000 lifesize clay figures each with a unique face and size,they were made 2200 years ago by the 1st emperor of China. We are at our closest point to the earthquake region and have seen evidence of damage to stone walls in Xian ...
