Any we are now actually in Xi'an but this entry will be about our time in Xiangfan staying with our Sister in law's family. ... Xiangfan was wonderful. ... Xiangfan is a relaxing and clean city with old city walls and a wide clean river with wonderful walkways along the river and the moat that surrounds the old city. ... We spent the last couple of days in a lovely town called Xiangfan on the Han river, two hours by bullet train north of Wuhan. ... What was most special for us about Xiangfan was staying with the Chinese branch of our family - our sister in law's family. ...

Today we visited the Wuhan Provincial museum and were totally bowled over by the a series of rooms displaying the contents from the tomb of the Marquis of Ji, a lord from around this area who was buried with all the goods he needed for his travels to the next world including a panoply of cauldrons, musical instruments, tables, weapons, armour, chariots, AND. ... We are in Wuhan in Central China, a big city on the Yangtze. ... But if you want air pollution, try Wuhan. ... mouth of the Han), one of the towns that have come together to make Wuhan. ...

Sep 25, 2009 - Day 6: Wuhan - Yichang - boat
I sat about half-way back with Alex (from the UK) for the four and a half hour bus ride to Yichang. ... Ate lunch on the bus - Vita-Weets (from Australia), Blueberry flavoured crisps (yes, you read that right - they were actually quite nice, and did smell and taste like blueberries) and a Chinese speciality "Moon Cake" (a kind of pastry with a jelly-like substance in the middle - nice enough, but I wouldn't choose it over a snickers bar!) Had a nice nap, and before I knew it we were arriving in Yichang, on the Yangtzee River. ... By the time the next people came I had it all sorted - cool! Picked up our luggage and caught a bus from Yichang for a one hour, forty minute journey to Zigui to board our boat for the cruise on the Yangtze River. ...

When you’re not in you own bed, are there times when you wake up wondering where you are for a few seconds? Well, this morning when I woke up, my brain was very confused. I’d prefer to explore Wuhan than see a bunch of rocks. ... ) As I toured the main shopping area of Wuhan, there was nothing I could see that appeared to indicate a communist economy. ...
