Well - we made it to Wutai Shan in the end, but it took us a 7 hour bus journey in the end, rather than the standard 5hr! Finding the bus didn't turn out to be too much of a problem - it seems that most of the long distance buses run in China are operated privately. This means that they're all eager to get you on their bus rather than someone else's!! We'd learnt the Chinese characters for Wutai Shan (ok - we'd likened them to different space invader characters as a learning aid!) so were pretty sure we were on the right bus. One thing...
