Jun 30, 2005 - Drive day to Chengde

Depart: Datong, Shanxi Province, China Arrive: Chengde, Hebei Province, China - This was mainly a drive day as we headed east of Beijing to Chengde, in Hebei province, home of several temples and the emperor's summer getaway. - We arrived in Chengde in the early evening and us lads met up for dinner next to the hotel in a rather trendy looking place with swings for seats. We then wandered the streets for a while before having a drink at a street bar near the hotel.
