Oct 3, 2005 - Beijing..day 1,2,3 China

Finding my hostel was a nightmare...the airport greeting never happened so I taook a shuttle to the center of the city. Then walked into Holiday Inn Hotel and the Eng. speaking clerk called the hostel and wrote the address for in Chinese. The taxi drops me off in the middle of 2 millions Chinese visitors because the police would not let him torn right...then he points for me to walk to the right. Oh my God its not 10:30pm and here I am pulling my bag down a street all in Chinese trying to find hostel in English and no one understands a work...

Mar 11, 2005 - The Great Wall

Hi again! Today was a life changing experience - the Great Wall is absolutely mind-boggling and beautiful, serene and endless!! We started out at 8am after getting egg buns from the hutong (alley) next to the hotel for breakfast. Then we boarded a bus for a 2-hour ride to the Great Wall entrance. Once there, the hike was very rough and steep but totally worth it once we got to the top. I wish I could attach a photo but they are all too large - darn!
