Arrived in Guilin just in time for a snooze and tea! Actually ordered our own dishes in a Chinese restaurant and did not make fools of ourselves. ... Also climbed to the top of this steep limestone karst, called Fubo Hill, fortunately by a series of marble steps not straight up the steeply wooded side! The view from the top over the city of Guilin was defiantly worth the climb, we could see a lot of the Li River and also several of the 4 lakes in the city, could also see the mountain to climb the next day. ... Fortunately the 800m high Yaoshan Mountain had a chairlift up to the top, unfortunately it was nearly freezing with a strong wind, so 20 minutes of sitting on a metal seat passing through freezing air cooled the ardour! The views from near the top were better than the top itself as the cloud was low, but could see an amazing flat landscape with these huge limestone karsts suddenly appearing vertically and buildings around the bases.Arrived in Guilin just in time for a snooze and tea!
