Got up and checked out then made way with my pack down to the bus station in Kowloon, heard from home some very sad news GBAN my trusty steed has passed away due to my lack of consideration when finding a new home for her. So jumped on this lush bus to Guangzhou, probably the poshiest bus I had been on in the whole of Asia it had leather seats, walnut finish everywhere and tonnes of leg room, not what I expected in China at all. ... We pulled into Guangzhou, which again was not what i expected, it was like a messy Hong Kong without the huge skyscrapers. ... Early breakfast, then catch train to airport. Some problems with reservations computer, finally check in and get plane to Guangzhou. ... We came to China via Guangzhou, and will leave again from here. ... We also came through Guangzhou on our way back from the trip North and when mum and Alex came to visit. ... It certainly isn't as friendly as Zhanjiang but most of the time we've spent in Guangzhou has been wonderful, and on the whole, all of China feels pretty safe! Maybe I want to put my bag on my front but i'd feel quite safe wandering streets late at night, like many other families. ...

Na door Hong Kong gewandeld te hebben, de dierentuin te hebben gezien en een mooi uitzicht over de stad te hebben gehad op Victoria's Peak (waar Jackie Chan een wassen beeld heeft staan), besloten we om maar eens naar het noorden te gaan. Na veel geloop, gedoe en gevraag in Shenzhen kochten we uiteindelijk treinkaartjes naar Guangzhou, waar we al geweest waren. ...
