Dec 21, 2009 - Almost finished...
I am not into my last half an hour of freedom before the chaos of the next couple of weeks happens. That's right, exam time! First exams start in an hour, so full on marking all day everyday for the next 9 days. Then the paperwork....urgh. Bring on the Spring Festival holiday (and the timetable for next semester!).

Dec 20, 2009 - I'm trying!!!
Okay, so I am slow at doing this. Have to admit I've just seen 'Julie and Julia' which inspired me to get back onto the bandwagon. Perhaps I am the ESL world's answer to Julie Powell? Not a lot on the China front. I have finally finished my Masters degree after 3 years, so no more excuses for not blogging. The term is almost at an end- this week is exams, then a good solid week for marking. Hopefully I will also get confirmation of what I'll be teaching next term, though I have heard rumours it would be Literature, Writing and oral....

Nov 7, 2009 - Attempt $23863 at journalling!
Well, I will try and keep a journal a little more often now that I have just completed my MA (as of today!!). My first thing to do is to go out for a long long walk. Maybe tomorrow! And seeing as a certain government won't let us into a certain book site (you must know what I mean) then I guess this could be the next best thing. Today, not a lot, other than finishing my final paper. Knee going stupid again, maybe it's the cooler weather. Tonight we have a visitor, so I'm waiting for a call for when she arrives! Will be nice to have a...

Nov 7, 2009 - Off to Dongguan.
Four periods of teaching this morning, starting at 8am and finishing at 11.40, and after the last class, I went out to the side street, and bought some fruit to eat on the bus. Then home, and finished packing. I did not have to rush, which was nice, as my bus was not leaving until 1.30. When it was time to leave, I headed to the bus stop, but waited for a while, before flagging down a taxi, and going to the bus station that way. I went to the shop in the bus station, and bought myself a packet of biscuits, and a can of cold coffee, to add...

Jun 19, 2006 - Hong Kong
As per the Luxe Guide .....If you're on a budget, don't come to Hong Kong! And to add to that, if you're with Bob Knight, try not to spot Mortons Steakhouse on your way to your hotel... you're in for a big night out! Having left the palatial rooms of The Astor Hotel in Shanghai, the packers crept single file into their shoebox - aka their Hong Kong Kowloon Hotel room. The stunning views of their adjacent hotels' airvents reminded them that they were about 15 floors away from being rich. But this didn't dent the beer budget and champagne...

Jun 18, 2006 - Hong Kong to mainland China for the day
June 19, 2006 9:41 AM Hello! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Michael and I just got back from disney land on lantau island, it was small but fun. One more night here in HK and then we fly to vietnam tommorow night. Went to China yesterday to the land of the knock offs(eveything there is a fake....even pop), did some shopping amongst SWARMS of people, it was one of the most interesting experiences as of yet. Mainland China is much different from HK island. Everything is on a larger scale and people need to work so much harder to make a...

Dec 31, 2005 - Yangon ( via Hong Kong )
Hallo !
