I'm actually writing this about 11 days after i first arrived in Beijing and i don't think theres much point giving day by day account of what i did but some general observations and what not are below. ... Arriving in Beijing i met up with two guys from London and we made our way into the city centre. ... There were many signs saying "Please do not visit me, this is a private house" so i guess at one point tourists just walked into peoples Hutong homes uninvited! Apart from bars there was also a huge number of restaurants and i didn't eat a bad meal while in Beijing (apart from the Street Food that gave me food poisoning!]. ... I guess the other notable thing about Beijing was the food. ... This is not negative however, as it just seems to add to the sense of community even in somewhere as large as Beijing. ...

And we’re off to the Great Wall (Mutianyu section) it will still take us about 2 hours to drive there, 90 km NE of Beijing, this section stretches 2250 meters long but shouldn’t be a filled with tourists as the Badaling section. ... I think this is probably the hottest day we have had in Beijing so far, yesterday was rainy and the other days were quite cold in comparison to today. ...
