Well we made it to Chile!! We got on a bus at 7:45 this morning, watched three movies and arrived in Tacna, Peru. You have to stay with your car group--I felt like a ive year old!! Anyhow we made it to the beautiful beachtown of Arica, Chile!!! We also got our bus tickets to Santiago--29 HOUR BUS RIDE. ... oh my god .Well we made it to Chile!! We still werent sure if Bolivia was safe at this point and didnt really want to get stuck in La Paz whilst they had a civil war so decided it was best for Ellie to fly to Arica in the very north of Chile and for us to go and meet her there. ... Arica seemed very western having spent so long in Peru and Ecuador, they even had a McDonalds and Kellogs cereal! Was really nice to meet up with Ellie, quite funny seeing her come off the little plane in the tiny airport with all the Chilean business men and for some unknown reason a random marching band. ... I was almost out of Chilean pesos, but I wanted to wait until I got to Iquique (where I was going to go paragliding and buy my final Chilean bus ticket) to make a withdrawl so I would have a better idea of how much to take out. ...
