May 7, 2007 - The Real End of the World!!! Porto Williams

ok, so Technically, Ushuaia isnt the most southern gathering of people. Its Porto Williams - part of Chile. After a quick visit to the Ushuaian prison we fled Ushuaia on Friday, and caught a dingy to Porto Williams . A quick 25 min boat trip accross the beagle channel . Stayed there for a full day . Unfort the weather was snowing the entire time so we didn{t get to see much cept for the lovely wooden fireplace in out B&B. Wishing you all a Happy New Year. I am going to be in Beunos Aires for a big party for new year which will be fab. Have spent today on the Beagle Channel looking at lovely birds and Sea Lions which are very cute but stink to high heaven. Will upload pics later. Have a good one lots of love susxxxxxx

Dec 23, 2006 - Isla Navarino

I left Punta Arenas mid-afternoon on the 23rd to fly to Puerto Williams (the home of the Chilean Navy) on the Island of Navarino. After finding a place to store my stuff, some white gas for my cook stove and a ride to the trailhead, I headed out in the rain at about 7:00 PM for my four day hike around Navarino Island. The rain lasted for about 15 minutes, and by the time I got to tree line a couple hours later, the sky had opened up and it was a beautiful night at what is about the 55 parallel south. Feb 9, 2006 - Eine "Expedition" zur Isla Navarino

Überfahrt von Punta Arenas nach Puerto Williams Kurz vor dem Einschiffen auf die Fähre "Bahia Azul" am Mittwoch Abend kam bei mir nochmals Hektik auf, da ich nach langer Zeit wieder einmal etwas verloren, respektiv vergessen hatte :-( Es war aber glücklicherweise etwas nicht so essentielles gewesen, wie der Sombrero zwei Monate zuvor, sondern nur das USB-Kabel für meine Digicam. Ich fuhr mit dem Taxi nochmals in die Stadt zurück, aber im Internetcafé, welches ich zuletzt benützt hatte, hatte man nichts gefunden. Ich rannte noch zu einem...
