***tentative itinerary*** Bridge to Bridge, Class III-IV+: These rapids are big and exciting, but consider today a warm-up for the whitewater to come. After rafting we return to base camp where the activity options abound: kayak on the lake, relax in the hot tub, trek to the top of nearby ridges, or simply enjoy appetizers and drinks at our riverside bar.

Futaelfu..is considered on of the hot spots for white water rafting..since no one really wanted to raft we elected to continue on and stayed at a camp site on a pond with a great view of a snow capped peak across the pond...then at Queulat we camped and hiked up and up to over look a glacier..there were thundering booms that sounded like a jet breaking the sound barrier when chunks of ice fell off (global warming at its best!!) now its on to Coihaigue...

Two days rafting one of the greatest whitewater rivers in the world. Less than one year after two weeks of rafting the Colorado through the Grand Canyon. We are truly very blessed and fortunate. And if you want to stop at this point and return to whatever you were doing before starting this torture, we would not blame you. There are about 7 rivers that empty into the Futaleufu (Futa). i made it to the fue a few days ago. went down the river yesterday. the fue is still running really strong right now so we did a trip down the azul, which is a tributary of the fue. the guys asked me to stick around to help out with a documentary film that they are producing on the area. the director flew in from sweden last night and we had dinner with him and talked about his expectations for the piece. we will spend the weekend getting things organized and monday morning head out to the river. argentina is releasing a lot of water from...
