Jan 3, 2007 - La Hidrospeed!!
Hello again!! What a morning! We undertook the "Hidrospeed": my description yesterday of holding on to an oversized kickboard while flying down whitewater rapids was pretty much on the money! The boys absolutely loved it, I found it a bit too much like hard work as being that bit shorter a much smaller proportion of my body was in the water and my little legs weren't so good at steering, but as you can see by the photos I still had a fantastic time and managed to come out the other side relatively unscathed. This evening we are off to...Jump to full entry
Jan 2, 2007 - Hola from Pucon!
Well, there I was saying I couldn't get on a computer and here I am in a small town with whose internet cafe density per capita would be matched only by the number of adventure tourism outlets! I am in Pucon, about a 12 hour bus trip from Santiago (yes, it has been a fun day) which is set at the foot of the most spectactular volcano with two big lakes, white water rafting, hot springs etc etc. The three of us came here for a bit of a look see before we fly out of Santiago for Lima (and the Inca Trail) early on the 6th, and we have gotten...Jump to full entry

We had heard that there was a much less used but much more scenic way of crossing the border that involved passing many of the lakes of this Lake District, as well as crossing one of them on a ferry. We weren't exactly sure how it would get down, since you cannot by these bus tickets in advance, but I had spoken to...Jump to full entry
Sep 14, 2005 - Pucon....a little like Jasper.....
We survived another overnight bus, and got into Pucon around 8:00am on Monday. Lyndz and I spent the morning walking around the cute little town that reminded us of Jasper. Later in the evening I went to the Hot Pools with some of the other people in the group. There were a few different pools, and one was nice and HOT!! We stayed there for a few hours, then Lyndz and I cooked our first meal in some time. The hostal had a kitchen which they let us use, so we had a cheap night! On Tuesday I went Canopying/ Zip-lining with David (aka Prince...Jump to full entry
