May 28, 2017 - Moose Mountain

It seems that every time I end up in a beautiful park where there are lots of walks, the weather turns ugly. Today was no exception. Cold & windy this morning then heavy rain this afternoon. Fortunately I have lots of reading material about Manitoba so I did some homework & also I’m getting one TV channel thru the antenna so watched the semi-final of Master Chef Canada this afternoon. Really no different from the Australian version.

May 27, 2017 - Yorkton to Moose Mountain

I headed south today about 170 km to Moose Mountain Provincial Park which was one of the first & the biggest Provincial Parks in Saskatchewan. It was opened in 1931 when the imposing 3 storey Chalet, which is now the Visitors’ Centre was built as part of the Depression Relief Program. One of the reasons I stopped here is because I’m interested to see a small adjacent park called Cannington Manor.
