Jun 14, 2008 - Band City Agility Trial, Moose Jaw

The dogs and I spent last night at Mom & Dad’s in Moose Jaw. We were up bright and early in the morning to play agility. The day started off lovely and warm but by late morning rain clouds moved in and a downpour commenced. Agility was postponed during the worst of it, but we resumed once the rain lessened. The rain stopped after about an hour but the field was waterlogged with many big puddles. Reba had to run in the rain and she didn’t mind too much other than she refused to down on the (wet) table! Midas had two very nice runs that his...

Oct 13, 2007 - Good-bye Hostfest

We had a super time at the Hostfest. The entertainment was terrific, the food delicious and the displays interesting. Bill Cosby was hilarious; especially his bit about being at the dentist with his mouth frozen and being engaged in conversation by the dentist! Charlie Pride and Ronnie Milsap were also very good. We never tire of hearing their many hit songs. Lorrie Morgan also put on a very good concert. She is looking and sounding great and did a good job connecting with the audience. She even pulled a guy out of the audience to sing a...

Aug 13, 2007 - To Limerick for the Harvest

We set up camp in Fran's father's yard in Limerick today so Fran can help his brothers with the harvest. We'll probably be here all week. I've got a long list of "to do's" to keep me busy, starting with about six loads of laundry. I'll also set up an agility course in a nearby grassy area so we can get some badly needed practice (and have some good play time).

Jun 22, 2007 - Small Towns - Gotta Love 'Em

We made the relatively short (1 hour) drive south of Moose Jaw today to Limerick, SK. After a gourmet lunch of weiners and beans with Fran's Dad, we set up the trailer in the yard and went into Assiniboia. Assiniboia, with a population of about 3,000 is the business centre for this part of the province. Anyway, two neat things happened in Assiniboia today. First, we had to sign some legal papers which were faxed to a local lawyer. No charge for witnessing the signatures or the fax services!!! (He also didn't even ask for ID to establish we...
