May 21st One of our goals this trip was to travel back roads as much as possible and today we got our wish. From Cypress Hills we followed the highway along the Alberta/ Montana border. We drove seal chip roads that were so bad they made the gravel roads look good. Our goal was to reach the Grassland National Park in southern Saskatchewan by early afternoon but Edith (the GPS) and road signs conspired against us. We took our first wrong turn (not likely the last) and went many kilometers down a highway that we thought would lead to the park...

Sep 7, 2014 - Day 29 - Swift Current to Grasslands National Park

We are SO happy that we decided to go to Grasslands National Park - it puts the "awe" back in awesome. It is the only park to represent the original prairie grasslands region. The scenery is so incredible that it almost brings tears to your eyes. Hopefully, when we post some pictures, you will get an idea of what we are talking about. Neither of us has ever seen anything like this before. We are staying in a campground in the wide open spaces with no trees and beautiful scenery all around us.
