Nov 9, 2015 - On Train Day 3
11/9 Night train rocked and rolled, slowed, stopped and generally rumbled our way along affording me fitful sleep in the somewhat cramped seats. Luckily our group occupied one whole car and we could spread out so we each had 2 seats. By 7am I was tired of 'lying' down so I got up and with most of the rest of the car still asleep I could go about my morning 'chores' with no trouble at all. The club/dining car was practically empty so getting my $2 .25 tea was without wait. Of course, returning to my seat I promptly spilled 1/2 of it...Jump to full entry
Nov 8, 2015 - Day Two
11/8 Day 2 on bus. Sleeping on bus was a bit difficult for me. Beautiful sunny day today. Saskatchuan...very flat countryside... first stop Moose Jaw 11am. Busing onward to Canora where we arrived at 5pm. Spent next 2 hrs. eating and chatting at Raymond's restaurant. Good Chinese food for reasonable $$$, especially if you order a meal for 2 (the portions are big). Then we waited the next 1 1/2 hours for the train in the 5x8 waiting room ( see photo).Jump to full entry
Oct 6, 2007 - Rain rain go away!
Today it has rained non stop all day. You can tell it's a major holiday in Canada - Canadian Thanksgiving. We are in a small campground near Canora one of the very few open in solitary isolation. We must be mad! Went down to Yorkton this morning and found the museum we wanted to visit closed so did a bit of shopping and them came back to the coach and had a quiet rest of the day. Not long to Churchill now!Jump to full entry
