Saturday, June 15, 2013 Weather: Azure blue sky, white puffy clouds, low humidity 72 degrees then shortly before reaching our campground near Saskatoon, it became overcast and the temperature dropped into the 50’s. We had gusty cross-winds most of the day. May 29, 2013 - At MacDonalds in Moose Jaw for WiFi

So far so good. Had a great dinner with my brother and family in Sorrento Sun night and breakfast with friends on Mon morning. What a lovely drive thru the mountains. Stayed the night at Deadman's Flats Three Sisters campground beside the Bow River. Nice and quiet and only 2 other campers. May 7, 2013 - Heading east

Well, here i am again .... We had a great visit with Peggy's brother and family in Quesnel, BC .... Peggy and the family also put closure to the death of their Mother in Quenel ... From there were visited Peggy's very good friend, Margot, in Edmonton ... We are now in Regina visiting Peggy's twin sister Pat, and will be leaving here tomorrow ... We should be home at the lake by Sunday or Monday this coming weekend .... Have a great day everyone, and enjoy the freshness of the spring ....

Apr 9, 2013 - We are home!

Well we made it home to winter!! Don is so happy (not). After getting the laundry done and the house closed up we left Mission on Apr 1st. The temperature was in the 80's (or 29C). Don's mom (Marie) who has been visiting us for the last 2 weeks was travelling with us. We drove to Corpus Christi and had lunch with our niece Terra and Shaun who were visiting there for a couple of weeks. Nov 30, 2012 - Getting ready to leave

Well this is our last weekend at home and we are going to celebrate Christmas with our family. As you can see by the photos we have gotten a lot of snow and someone (I won't mention any names) has been complaining about still being here. We will be leaving on Tuesday (Dec 4th) to head for Oklahoma where we will visit our friends Jim & Judy for a couple of days. We plan to be in Mission on Dec 8th unless we stop somewhere else. Oct 12, 2012 - Moose Jaw, Saskachewan, Canada

The drive from Glacier National Park to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, took us from the hilly, forested, curvy road up the east side of Glacier and nearby Waterton Provincial Park in Alberta to the largely flat open terrain of the Saskatchewan plains. It was harvest time and we passed countless rolls of hay, some stacked up, other still scattered in the fields. We noted many "fields" of wind turbines as well, slowly turning in the breeze. Sep 24, 2012 - Saskatoon

We drove from Drumheller to Saskatoon on Friday and set up in Gordon Howard Park. Yes, the park is named after hockey immortal Gordie Howe. It is a nice campground with the only drawback being no sewer. Saskatoon, a city of about a quarter million, has turned out to be a pleasant place to visit. I am especially pleased with the bike path that runs on either side of the Lower Saskatchewan River. I did a training run along the path and through the campus of the University of Saskatchewan. Regina, SK. We had a very full day. Government House was constructed as a residence for the Lieutenant-Governor of the North-West Territories. The home has now been made into a museum. We just happened to show up the same day as the annual antiques auction so 1) it was hard to find a parking place, 2) we were the only ones touring the museum. Saturday, August 18 - Elk Island National Park We slept in until almost 8, then broke camp before breakfast. We ate our muffins and milk and blueberries by the lake, then walked along a boardwalk beside the lake. We drove the park roads, including Bison Loop. Aug 17, 2012 - Tunnels

Regina, SK. Today we did the Tunnels of Moose Jaw tours. Unfortunately they don't allow photos so we had to borrow some. In the early 1900′s most of the large buildings in Moose Jaw were heated by steam. Engineers who tended the heating systems in the basements created a network of tunnels linking the buildings together so they could easily move themselves and equipment between buildings without freezing in the cold prairie winters. Swift Water, SK. We left Alberta and are now in Saskatchewan. There are no mountains here. Instead we see huge fields full of hay bales, acres and acres of golden wheat, ranches with rolling grass-covered hills chock-full of cattle and horses, and a plentiful amount of pothole lakes.
